Surrounded by emptiness
This was my first shoot with India — we've since done many more. I had an idea for an "urban desolation" shoot. Nothing in the sense of abandoned buildings or lonely night shots, but more like finding places that create a natural feeling of emptiness.
India and I decided on two looks. One was a simple black and white ensemble to emphasize the stillness of the first location. She pulled a great textured top that added some visual interest to the outfit. The other was a dark colored jacket that would both fit in with and pop against the second location. This was no small task to ask of her and we now have this running joke of the time I asked her to wear a jacket, in July, in the desert. She came through with a jacket that had really cool interior stitching and designs.
